NYU’s Polytechnic School of Engineering is located in Brooklyn’s MetroTech Center, a 16-acre business, educational, and recreational hub home to several major corporations, academic institutions and commercial businesses. It is the nation's largest urban university-industry science and technology park.
NYU Polytechnic has several locations throughout MetroTech and is housed within NYU owned properties, landmarked buildings, and leased spaces. The campus has been quickly expanding and the School of Engineering has recently re-branded.
To accommodate the re-branding and rapid expansion Michael designed and implemented updated identification signage within MetroTech and developed an original set of orientation maps and structures for installation throughout campus.
In addition to identifying NYU buildings & destinations, the orientation maps include landmarks, public transportation, major office buildings, city agencies, and key services. The maps were designed to allow room for growth on the campus and are easily updated when new locations are established.
